It is believed that this stone will still pass by the Earth without incident. The Chance of an Asteroid Hitting Earth doubles in 2032

The chances of an asteroid hitting the Earth almost doubled in 2032 but we need not worry as we are almost certainly safe.
On December 22, 2032, an asteroid that was discovered last year will pass close to Earth. The asteroid has been named 2024 YR. This reef can be up to 90 meters wide.
As the asteroid approaches Earth, there is a chance it will collide with Earth, which could be potentially catastrophic.
Now, NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Studies, or CNEOS, has re-evaluated the possibility of an asteroid hitting Earth. (infotechdaily)
A week ago, the chance of the asteroid hitting Earth was about 1 percent, but now it has increased to 2.3 percent, or one percent in 43. NASA says it will continue to study the asteroid and expects that as more information is gained about its orbit and path, revisions will reduce the chances of it hitting Earth.

In a statement last week, NASA said that in the past there have been several objects that have been on the threat list, but as more data became available, they were removed from the list. After the new observations, it is possible that this asteroid can be completely removed from the threat level.
Asteroid 2024 YR was first spotted on December 27 last year. A few days later it became the center of world attention when it was added to NASA’s list of potentially dangerous near-Earth asteroids. At present, the asteroid is rated as third on the Torino Impact Hazard Scale. This scale measures the severity of the threat from zero to 10. Zero means absolutely no threat, while 10 means the end of civilization.
